A sense of civic duty ? Thanks to Tony Blair and Gordon Brown ? Many certainly don't show that amount of honesty. Comment on Slavery Today by Melanie http://www.newwilberforce.co.uk/2012/08/05/slavery-today/#comment-39 Melanie Sun, 19 Aug 2012 18:05:54 +0000 http://www.newwilberforce.co.uk/?p=333#comment-39 Nice blog. The analogy with slavery seems apt. We need a new civil rights movement today to elevate the rights of communities and nature above corporate 'rights'. We need to build a grassroots movement to force change from the bottom up. Just like the abolitionists and suffragettes, we must challenge the unjust structure of law that entrenches the power of the 1%. Communities must assert their right to self government. Look forward to working with this group and building alliances. Occupy Law UK shares your values. We are promoting the Community Bill of Rights - local laws that give power to the people. As you are in it together you will be able to attract a far wider base of support, especially if further groups join the alliance. I do wonder what you think of the claims US and UK based shareholders have against British banks over PPI mis-selling and LIBOR.. Could they sink some large names? Could there be another bailout? I agree that there is call for a rigorous investigation but ultimately it will cause more chaos. This is why the decision to provide Cooperative bank with new branches, or Lloyds' managers with a new persona makes little sense. The more diverse the future banking system the better. The larger the banks the more scope for corruption as they cozy up to politicians, regulators and others who conceal the daily fraud. It is important that a group such as this tackling the issue of the 5,000 year debt bondage does elevate characters who played a role in their own revolution. If you are talking about ultimate sacrifice in regards to the subject then look no further that JFK and Executive Order 11110. It takes courage to take on the power of money but when people understand it is about returning justice to the People they are going to listen. The NWA could be the voice of reason in a world that is mad and blind at times. As a banker and a barrister you will understand not only how the economic system works but also the Parliamentary system. This is essential because we almost have to circumnavigate the mainstream media. Fortunately social media may have the answers to making your vision a reality. Justin Hello All,
